Insurance
At Treehouse Orthodontics we participate with most PPO insurances. If you have insurance we will work with your insurance company directly and submit all the paperwork to start treatment. We also work with our families to offer payment plan options and have promotional benefits as being a Treehouse Family member.
If you do not have Orthodontic Insurance coverage, that is OK, as we offer plans to best assist you through your orthodontic experience.
When using Insurance plans in Orthodontics, please note that coverage is calculated quite differently than your preventative or restorative dental care coverage. With most insurance coverages for Orthodontics you have a set amount often called your Orthodontic Lifetime Maximum. Your Orthodontic Lifetime Maximum is a set total dollar amount that the insurance company will pay out for Orthodontic Treatment, which is based on the length of time you have coverage with that insurance company over your lifetime.
Once the Insurance company has paid in full your Orthodontic Lifetime Maximum, you no longer have Orthodontic coverage or funds available to be applied to additional Orthodontic Treatment.
We have listed some scenario’s below to better understand the Orthodontic insurance coverage.
For Example - Scenario 1
Let’s say the fee for a Phase 1 Treatment is $3800, treatment length is 12-14 months. Most insurance plans cover 50% of the treatment fee with an orthodontic lifetime maximum of $1500. This would mean that the patient’s insurance company would pay the whole lifetime maximum of $1500 to the Orthodontic provider. Which would leave a $0 remaining in the patient’s orthodontic lifetime maximum coverage for additional treatment. And the patient portion owed to the provider would be $2300.
For Example - Scenario 2
Now let’s take that same example (fee for a Phase 1 Treatment is $3800) but this time the insurance plan covers 50% of the fee and has an orthodontic lifetime maximum of $2000. This would mean the patients insurance company would pay 50% of the $3800 fee, which would be $1900. And because the Orthodontic Lifetime maximum is $2000, the patient would have $100 remaining to use for additional Orthodontic treatment. The patient’s portion owed to the Orthodontic provider would be $1900. Because the coverage term is set to 50% of the fee, the insurance company will only pay 50% of the fee and no more until additional treatment is commenced and at that time the remaining $100 can be applied.
For Example - Scenario 2B
So for this example, we will continue on with scenario 2 but now the patient is ready for additional treatment as the adult molars have now come in. We will use a comprehensive Phase 2 Invisalign case with a total fee amount of $6000, treatment length is 24 months. The patient’s insurance plan covers 50% of the treatment with a lifetime orthodontic maximum of $2000. But since the patient has already used $1900 of it you have $100 remaining to be applied to this treatment total. This would mean your insurance company would pay $100. The patients portion owed to the Orthodontic provider would be $5900.

FAQ'S
When is the best age to start Orthodontic treatment?
The best age to start orthodontic treatment changes depending on the individual needs of the patient. However, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic consultation by age 7. Early evaluation can help identify potential issues and allow for timely intervention, which can simplify treatment and improve outcomes. At Treehouse Orthodontics, we offer consultations for children, teenagers, and young adults to determine the best time to begin treatment.
How long does Orthodontic treatment take?
It depends on the complexity of the case and what treatment is being used. On average, treatment with braces or Invisalign can take anywhere from 12 to 36 months. During your consultation at Treehouse Orthodontics, we will provide a personalized treatment plan with an estimated timeline, so you know what to expect.
What are the costs associated with Orthodontic treatment in Orange County?
The cost of Orange County orthodontics can vary depending on the type of treatment and the complexity of the case. Braces typically range from $4,000 to $7,000, while Invisalign may cost between $3,500 and $8,000. At Treehouse Orthodontics, we offer flexible payment plan options. Is Invisalign as effective as braces ?
Invisalign is highly effective for treating a wide range of orthodontic issues, but it may not be suitable for all cases.
